N.P. “Narv” Narvekar ProfileChief Executive Officer
Harvard Management Company, Inc.
Narv Narvekar became managing director and chief executive officer of Harvard Management Company, Inc. (“HMC”) in December of 2016 and initiated a five-year restructuring of both HMC's organization and the investment portfolio to improve the long-term returns of this critical University resource. These changes involved every aspect of the firm's operations, investment processes, and asset allocation. Officially completed in October of 2020—more than a year ahead of schedule—the restructuring has already improved endowment returns.
Prior to joining HMC, Mr. Narvekar oversaw Columbia University’s endowment for 15 years and, before that, was Managing Director of Investments for the University of Pennsylvania endowment. He began his career at J.P. Morgan, where he served in a number of roles and rose to the position of Managing Director, Equity Derivatives.
Mr. Narvekar currently serves on the boards of the McKinsey Investment Office, Novo Holdings, and Valence8. He previously served as a director for Soros Fund Management, TIFF, The Johnson Company, the Geller Investment Office, and the Chapin School.

Prior to that, Mr. Slocum was responsible for private assets and portfolio management at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
