・Reflections on Hideko’s journey with UNDP, the lead development UN entity for the past 20 years.
・Thoughts on her experiences and lessons learned in peacebuilding at the field level.
・Insights into Japan's role in international relations and support for developing countries. For example, one of Japan’s initiatives, TICAD(Tokyo International Conference on African Development) just held in Yokohama in this August.
This dinner discussion promises to offer a unique and enriching perspective on the role of international organization, reflecting Hadzialic’s profound expertise and experience.
About Hideko Hadzialic:
Hideko is the Director, Representation Office in Tokyo since June 2023. In 2019, she assumed the position of UNDP Resident Representative in Kuwait, and since April 2023, functioned as both UNDP Resident Representative and United Nations Resident Coordinator, a.i. Prior to that, she served as UNDP Deputy Country Director in Sudan (2017-2019), overseeing 100 million programme annually, and the Management Advisor for the Office of the UN Assistant Secretary General/Bureau Director, the Bureau of Management at the UNDP Headquarters in New York (2014-2017). At UNDP, she also assumed the following posts: UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Bhutan; Policy Network Manager for Millennium Development Goals at the Bureau for Development Policy, UNDP Headquarters in New York; Programme Specialist at UNDP Iraq and Programme Officer at UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hideko holds MPA (Master in Public Administration) from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
