SOLD OUT THANKS! Join Fellow Alumni at Yasuda House, a Beautiful Historic Tokyo Home

This event sold out ************** Casual Small Group Tour of This Special House in Sendagi.

Please join fellow Harvard Club of Japan members on Saturday morning July 4th for a visit to Yasuda House, a stunningly beautiful house and garden in traditional Japanese style that was built in 1919 and served as home to members of the Yasuda zaibatsu family until it was donated to the Japan National Trust in 1996. See more about the house at http://us.jnto.go.jp/blog/kusuo-yasudas-former-home-a-rare-chance-to-see-a-traditional-japanese-home-in-tokyo/ and http://japan-web-magazine.com/tokyo/japan-tokyo-bunkyo-old-yasuda-house0.html

We will meet at 10:30am sharp at Exit #1 of Sendagi Station on the Chiyoda line and walk together about 10 minutes to the house, which is staffed by volunteers and only open Wednesdays and Saturdays. The cost of this event is just the 500 yen admission fee payable on the day. After a full tour of the house, members who wish to can make ad hoc plans to go somewhere for lunch together. Club will bring a few suggestions for that.

While solid architecturally, the house has many fragile decorative elements. Kids must be well supervised, and in any case the house is likely mainly of interest to adults or to teenagers with an interest in traditional Japanese culture.

Please wear socks as you must remove shoes.

If you have a JAF membership card your admission is discounted to 400 yen.

To register please use the form on the right of this web page.
