About Mr. Tan Kong Hwee
Mr Tan Kong Hwee is the Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and a member of EDB’s Executive Committee. He oversees EDB’s Global Enterprise and Marketing Group, which has responsibilities to engage and facilitate the business activities of enterprises with investment interests in Singapore. He is also an Advisory Board Member at Design Singapore (DSg) and oversees the Office for Space Technology and Industry (OSTIn).
Prior to his current appointment, Kong Hwee was responsible for EDB’s Accounts Group and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), which manages relationships with top local and international companies across a wide range of industries. Throughout his career at EDB, he has been involved in developing industry sectors such as aerospace, marine & offshore, mobility and space technology. He was previously Regional Director, Europe, and Centre Director, Japan.
Before joining EDB in 2006, Kong Hwee was with the Ministry of Home Affairs for three years. He received a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Kyoto University. Kong Hwee is a 2019 graduate of the General Management Program from the Harvard Business School.
