Our Seminar Series have focused on “sustainability” from the perspective of responsible/ESG investing and environmental impact. However, technology & data are key aspects of sustainability for a business in today’s world.

Join the HBS Club of Japan with Professor Pavel Kireyev (Assistant Professor of Marketing, INSEAD and PhD from HBS) and Professor Yusuke Narita (Assistant Professor of Economics, Yale University) for a moderated discussion about ethics in data and artificial intelligence (AI). The session will be moderated by HBS CoJ Executive Committee Member Simeon Bochev.

The seminar will be in English and open to general audiences.


Speakers/登壇者

Professor Pavel Kireyev

Assistant Professor of Marketing, INSEAD

Professor Kireyev teaches AI Strategy (MBA) and machine learning, causality, and management (PhD) at INSEAD. His research is focused on data-driven digital platform design. Professor Kireyev led ML projects at QuantCo, helping the company grow from pre-incorporation to 80+ employees, and worked in Tokyo, Japan and the US. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from HBS with a focus on quantitative marketing.


Professor Yusuke Narita

Assistant Professor of Economics, Yale University

Founder, Hanjuku-Kaso

Professor Narita teaches several undergraduate and graduate economics courses and conducts research on education, health, and labor policies, as well as data-driven algorithms / mechanism design. Professor Narita is also affiliated with academic institutions such as MIT Blueprint Labs, the University of Tokyo. As co-founder of Hanjuku-Kaso, he conducts joint research with companies such as CyberAgent and Zozo. He received his PhD in Economics from MIT and Bachelors and Masters in Economics from the University of Tokyo.


Simeon Bochev, MBA (Moderator)

Simeon is a proven leader that sits at the intersection of business, technology & policy with a passion for building teams & ventures, rapidly scaling organizations, and pushing frontier technologies within the technology, AI/ML and data science space. He is currently a senior AIML leader in a major global tech company, sits on the boards of several technology ventures, and influences the public narrative on technology across the Pacific.
