The Cambridge & Oxford Society invites HCJ members to Summer Buffet Party at Tsunamachi Mitsui Club

Please direct registrations and inquiries directly to C&O Society. This event is NOT managed by Harvard Club of Japan. Places are limited so sign up early.

The Cambridge & Oxford Society is pleased to invite members of Harvard Club of Japan to its main July event, which is a Summer Buffet Party on Thursday July 10th (18:30 - 21:00) at Tsunamachi Mitsui Club (www.tsunamachimitsuiclub.co.jp/), a private club for senior members of the Mitsui Group, which is housed in a spectacular 1913 mansion designed by British architect Josiah Conder (1852 – 1920). It was originally built as the Mitsui family’s guesthouse. This will be a good opportunity not only for Harvard Club and C&O members to mingle socially, but also for those who have never visited the club to experience its excellent cuisine and very special atmosphere.

To give participants a chance to view the extensive gardens before it goes dark, the reception desk will open at 18:00. Please note, however, that drinks will not be served until 18:30.

The attendance fee is 10,000 yen per person (the exact charge levied by Mitsui Club - no profit to C&O!), which covers all food and drinks and is payable in advance by bank transfer. Bank account details and directions to Mitsui Club will be sent to those who sign up. Like C&O members, Harvard Club members are welcome to invite one guest. The dress code is jacket and tie (stipulated by Mitsui Club).

If you would like to attend this event, please contact Tim Minton, Honorary Secretary of the Cambridge & Oxford Society at t.minton@camford.org by Monday, July 7th, stating that you are a member of Harvard Club and giving your full name and that of your guest if you intend to bring one. All entries will be acknowledged within three working days. Please note only the first 80 applicants can be accepted.

This is NOT a Harvard Club of Japan event so please directa ll communications directly to C&O Society as indicated above.
