Tomo Hamakawa, AB 2002 and MPP 2008, cordially invites the Harvard Club of Japan members to a unique opportunity to engage with pioneering social innovators from around the Asia Pacific on Sunday 6 October in Tokyo.
The award-winning social enterprise, Earth Company, will be hosting an event to celebrate its 5th anniversary on October 6th, 2019. To commemorate the occasion, all five of Earth Company's Impact Heroes will be coming to Japan to share their life stories and life work with the Japanese audience.
These Impact Heroes include exceptional leaders such as Bella Galhos, a Timorese woman who has declared her candidacy for the 2022 Presidential Election and, if successful, would become the first female president of Timor-Leste and the first open LGBT president in Asia. Another Impact Hero is Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner from the Marshall Islands, a world-renown climate change activist and daughter to the current president of the island-state.
