The Hakuhodo Institute of Life and Living Presents: The Future of ASEAN Sei-katsu-sha

THIS EVENT IS NOT RUN BY HARVARD CLUB SO PLEASE REPLY TO THE MEIJI UNIVERSITY ADDRESS INDICATED BELOW

Meiji University is pleased to present a talk by Masataka Yoshikawa, Chief Researcher at the Hakuhodo Institute of Life and Living (HILL) about “The Future of ASEAN Sei-katsu-sha,” to be held at Meiji University on October 14 (Tue) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Please note that this talk will be given in Japanese.

The word “sei-katsu-sha,” a “living person” or a “person with a daily life,” was coined by advertising agency Hakuhodo in its early days when it decided to focus on consumers not as users of specific products-- which may or may not be used during brief moments on an average day-- but rather holistically to see how they live their daily lives, and in that context, how they use companies’ products and services. Hakuhodo’s Institute of Life and Living was founded in 1981 to conduct research about sei-katsu-sha and recently opened overseas offices in Shanghai and, this year, in Bangkok for all of ASEAN.

Mr. Yoshikawa will present an overview of the findings from the first survey conducted for ASEAN countries about their values, their daily lives, and their vision of the future.
