HBS Club of Japan is pleased to invite all HCJ members to the 2013 HBS Club of Japan’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award event. This year HBS Club is very fortunate to have Mr. YOSHIHARU HOSHINO, President of Hoshino Resorts as the recipient. (www.hoshinoresort.com).  The event will be held on December 17th, 2013 at the Hotel Niwa Tokyo (庭のホテル), in the “San ()” RoomSeats sell out quickly, so please make sure to make a reservation in advance!!

SPEAKER: Yoshiharu Hoshino graduated from Keio University with a bachelors degree in Economics. He then studied a masters course in Cornell University in USA. In 1991, he became the President of Hoshino Resort Group. At that time, ownership and operation were integrated for hotels in Japan. He emphasized operation strategy and brought out the new business model – management service intensification. He also pioneered working with foreign institutional investors including Goldman Sachs and Grove International. He succeeded in turning around the Risonare in Yamanashi Prefecture, the Bandaisan Onesen Hotel in Fukushima Prefecture, and the Tomamu Resort in Hokkaido in 2001, 2003 and 2004 respectively. The Hoshinoya Kyoto and the Hoshinoya Okinawa were opened in 2009 and 2012. Today the operation point has expanded to 32 locations. In 2011, four small scale luxury-type onsen resorts with the new brand name ‘Kai’ were opened. This new brand name is expected to be used hereafter. The Risonare Atami, the Risonare Kohamajima, and the Risonare Tomamu were opened in Dec 2011, April 2012, July 2012 respectively.
